East Hempfield Township police were called by Lancaster County Wide Communications to a cardiac arrest at a home in the 2900 block of Spring Valley Road Thursday, Mar. 10 around 11:20 p.m., according to a release by the police.
The reporting person told LCWC that a person was also not breathing, according to the release.
When officers arrived at the house, they found a 22-year-old woman, "who appeared to have sustained traumatic injury from an apparent assault," East Hempfield police say.
A person of interest has been identified according to the police.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office and the Lancaster County Office of the District Attorney are assisting the East Hempfield Township Police Department in the investigation.
